1. Choose the right barcode type

For retail products use EAN-13 or UPC, for internal marking and logistics Code 128 or Code 39, for books ISBN. For digital content, WiFi or payments use the QR code.

2. Enter a value and check the preview

Type your value (e.g. a GTIN or URL). The preview is generated instantly. For EAN/UPC, use the correct number of digits – the check digit is calculated automatically.

3. Adjust the design

Tune colors, module size and the quiet zone (border). For reliable scanning, use high contrast and a sufficient light margin.

4. Download: PNG, SVG or PDF

For web, PNG is enough. For print and scaling use SVG. For label sheets and archiving export as PDF.

Yes. Barcode Studio is completely free and requires no sign-up.

Do I need a GS1 number?

For products sold publicly in retail you need an official GS1 GTIN. For internal purposes you can use your own values.

Which format is best for printing?

SVG (vector) or PDF, because they scale losslessly. PNG is best for web and screen.
