For traceability you often need more than the item number: batches and serial numbers. This guide shows how to encode them cleanly in barcodes and produce them in series.

A batch (lot) groups a production quantity, a serial number identifies a single unit. Both are key for recalls and warranty handling.
Encoding with GS1-128
